Church libraries can make a tremendous difference by offering books of faith and virtue to shape young minds and encourage family discussion. Here are two recent children's books by a Virginia pastor, that do that very thing. Both are available at Amazon and other online booksellers. "The Calling Card of the King" is just out this month and is about a king who visits his subjects incognito. He helps them discover the power of forgiveness and love, and leaves behind a calling card that seems to transform lives. "Where Do Belly Buttons Come From?" is a delightful story that reminds us that we all are specially made and especially loved by God!
Welcome, Kate! I don't check this address very often but I notice you are close to me. I am the Children's Librarian at Third Presbyterian Church in the west end of Richmond. I would love to meet with you and get together with ideas for ministry through our libraries. We have many ways of ministry to families, including our Mosaic Ministry to families of children with special needs. Leave your e-mail and perhaps we could arrange a meeting.
