I am very sorry that I did not receive your email plus my computer crashed  with lightning  and I lost email addresses.  If you will send me at mar.tom2@verizon.net  your email address,  l will be glad to add you to my contacts.  In the meantime I will gladly attempt to answer your question.

The theme of "Moving the Library from Its Four Walls" concentrates on the library not only being a receptacle for books and check-out but also a ministry for service beyond the library.  The library ministry concept allows the mindset and then follow-through of coordinating or carrying media from the library out into the church and beyond based on Matthew 28:16-20 and Acts 1:8.  Maybe one or all fit into your Library Missions Statement.

The program is based on a presentation at Ridgecrest by DeAnn Hudson and an article by Beth Andrews.

Power points, short presentations plus group and general discussions will be included.  We ask that those attending consider bringing their own ideas on this topic concerning  what they have done, are doing, or may be inspired to do.

I hope you can come, and if you have more questions and comments, then let me know.

Thanks,  I found one website that suggested Endust on a cloth which would attract the dust and not just spread it round and vacuuming shelves with a HEPA vacuum.  I will look at swifter which I have used for floors.

Dear Janet, It was good to get your message. When you get to Griffin I would love to share the library at FBC with you. Marilyn Lewis occasionally gets here to visit her mother. I enjoy renewing FL library connections.
Also I concur with several of the other librarians that commented on how they weed items using Concourse.

Take care, Joyce

Hi, Janet,

I am so glad to hear of your interest in church library meetings. We are trying to have some meetings in our area twice a year. Are you on Roy Saint's librarian email list? His office sent out emails all over the state to all the librarians on their list about the meetings we're having. We had an organizational meeting in April and then another in September, the first at our church Idlewild in Tampa and the other at First Baptist in Plant City. Did you get anything on either one of these meetings? We are hoping to have another meeting at Idlewild in April 2011 and have asked about getting it on our church calendar. We are trying to follow the suggestions made at the April meeting. The Sept. meeting was on book repair, and the one in April will be on promotion. Any suggestions or comments that you have are welcome indeed. Thank you and blessings to you. Marilyn

Wish it worked that way. Unfortunately, there is not a way to do that. Tell you what I'll do. I've got to resend my email earlier today because I did the wrong link to the Ridgecrest event. I'll add a note about joining a group for a state. That might cause them to go to your group. THANKS! Morlee
