Hi Everyone!

Let’s continue our discussions about transitions for the coming new church year. Back to school this week?

eBooks

We have not grappled with eBooks in a while. The pastor of one of our new members wants eBooks. Those of you who have experience with having eBooks in your church’s collection: would you share your recommendations as well as experience? Click here. Click here for all our previous posts about eBooks.

New Believers

Our library had a milestone experience yesterday! It involved connecting with an unchurched family from Peru who now lives here, giving them a Bible, and a discussion about the King James Bible and the Bible my church uses. Click here. See my reply.

New Photo

Thank you, Sabrina J, for this great picture of your display window. Well done! Click here.

Communicating with Church Staff Ministers

We had a recent CLN discussion about ways to connect with the ministries of our churches. My experience yesterday with the family from Peru gave me an opportunity to share this milestone with our church staff. I included their response to that email at the end of the New Believers post. How do you share your “customer” experiences with your church staff? Click here

New Event in Virginia

Lee Smith posted information about a conference in October. Click here.

Books for Middle Schoolers

Georgina Businaro put a list of book titles together that her church’s middle schoolers are reading. Click here. Every church library is unique so keep in mind that each of us must use our collection policy to determine what we add to the collection. Do you have recommendations?

Events

Time to mark your calendar for future training opportunities. Anyone else have an event? Let me know if you would like for me to set up your event page. Click here

Discussion Topics?

What is a topic you wish we would grapple with on the CLN? Post the topics here. I will start a separate discussion starter for each one according to the appropriate tab.

To add a post to any of our pages, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the tab you want to add a post.
  2. Click on the red box below the tabs to the right of the page to open a form to fill out for your post.
  3. When you complete the form, click on Save and Publish.
