One of our members is searching for a list of recommended books for new believers. If each of us replies with one or two recommendations, we will all see a minimum of 2000 recommendations. We often do not participate in these listings because we don't have time to list of several books. Let's collaborate this time!

I had a milestone happen yesterday in the Enrichment Center. A first-time guest family dropped by the EC after Sunday School. A family from Peru who lives in our area. The Dad told me that their eldest daughter suggested their family go to our church on Sunday which was yesterday. They came to our Fall Festival the last 2 years, but never got around to attending on Sunday. Even though their English was hard to understand, we had a delightful conversation about the EC and our church. Then he asked me what Bible our church uses. They only knew about the King James. We have sample Bibles of the CSB which is the Bible our pastor uses when he preaches and our SS masterials use for Bible study. I explained the difference and they looked through the samples. I also showed them a shelf of donated Bibles that we giveaway. They selected one of the free CSB Bibles. They were thrilled to have one!
Do you have Bibles to giveaway in the library? If so, how do you make people aware of them? Where do you place them?
BTW, they "joined" the Enrichment Center and checked out 3 books selected by their 3 daughters.
The milestone is the opportunity to touch the lives of a family who have been without a church family.
I shared this story through email with our church staff first thing this morning. Their response has been "please continue to share these experiences with us!"
