One of the best themes we ever had was to honor the military during the month of July. We began 6 weeks ahead of time and asked our members to bring pictures of themselves, parents, etc. when they were in service. We hope we would get 30-50 pictures. We got over 120. We had several tables set up – presently serving, deceased and veterans. If you look, we had name plates – white/red/blue—the person’s name was on top and what branch he/she served in on red, blue was blank. All of our ministers promoted it – we had lots and lots of people come through the library last July. They especially enjoyed looking at the “young” pictures of members that are presently 70 and up.
