Our beloved sister

Please join me in lifting the family and friends of Joanna Harrison, director of the library at West End Baptist. She is going home very late tonight or early tomorrow to be with our LORD.  She will be sorely missed.

  • As we navigate the realities of being a Church Library Ministry in 2020, our library team at Forest Hills Baptist Church (FHBC) in Wilson, NC used the time to reevaluate usage of the library. We will be renovating it to include more of a discipleship focus. We will integrate the coffee room, library, missionary focal map and other small centers into the larger space. To make room for all the additions, we had a major inventory weeding. Over 1200 books were removed from our over 6500 collection. Most of these are Christian non-fiction(200's) with some other non-fiction and Christian fiction. If any library would like the books, please let me know. We would rather share these with those who share our joy of reading as well as our chosen service to Church Library Ministry. Thank you and have a wonderfully blessed day!

I had a budget form I was using but I would like to know what other templates are out there for libray. Anyone got a form they like that they wouldn't mind sharing?

  • Hi Christina, My 3,000 volume library is currently in the process of transitioning to Evergreen open source software. It takes an adept IT person to set it up, but now that it is set-up, I am loving the features and functionality. It is highly customizable and has a strong support community that welcomes all.

  • Dear NC church librarians, I am in Az now visiting my kin.  Having a great time. I feel very close to all of you because I taught for several years at the beautiful state conference center, and then I did the eastern part of the state on one conference and the western part at another conference!  Is there anyone out there who still remembers the one we had in a steady downpour of hard rain and some drove for hours to attend?  I stayed and signed books afterward.  Happy new year to all of you.  Mackie

Judy McCall Furr got her angels wings today, August 2, 2020.

My co-leader and advisor, Judy McCall Furr passed today.  Here is what her daughter put on FB:Day 256: August 2, 2020 3:20am (official 4:45am). It is with heavy and saddened heart that we say mom, Judy McCall Furr, has gained her angel wings. 💔 She fought hard over the past 9 months. We got to bring her home and spend her final 13 hours with her. 💜 We got to love on her and my dad watched her take her last breath. He was holding her arm and felt her last pulse. 💕 Mom has had a rough couple of…
