My co-leader and advisor, Judy McCall Furr passed today.ย Here is what her daughter put on FB:
Day 256: August 2, 2020 3:20am (official 4:45am). It is with heavy and saddened heart that we say mom, Judy McCall Furr, has gained her angel wings. ๐ She fought hard over the past 9 months. We got to bring her home and spend her final 13 hours with her. ๐ We got to love on her and my dad watched her take her last breath. He was holding her arm and felt her last pulse. ๐
Mom has had a rough couple of years. She beat cancer, she had a full knee replacement surgery, she survived coma and the first set of strokes in November but her body was just so tired, she couldnโt fight anymore. She is whole again. No more pain, no more suffering.
Her and dad were married for 51 1/2 years. She raised 3 kids and has 6 awesome grandkids. She retired after 30 years from S&D Coffee. She has been a NC 4-H Volunteer for over 40 years(local, state and national level). She has been an active member of the NC ECA for over 40 years(local, state and national level). She was active in church her entire life and was a leader in the church Media Library Association (local, state and national level). We know our family extends well beyond these walls. We have felt every one of your prayers these past 9 months.
We know we are not the first family to lose a parent, but this is the first time we have lost a parent. We also know that during this Pandemic, a lot of families do not get to be with their loved one and say good bye. We are very thankful we were able to bring her home and cherish these last hours with her.
I know Kim Ingold was standing there waiting to greet her with camera in hand. I can hear it now โOK Ms Judy, we take a photo of everyone as they enter, so smile prettyโ ๐๐๐ธ
Then, she walked over and had the most special reunion with her sister Alice, brother Delmer, Grandmaw McCall and Grandmaw Furr. ๐
We want to thank everyone for all your prayers, thoughts, texts and messages. We have felt every single one. Please continue to pray for our family over the next while as we adjust to our new normal without mom part of our daily life.
We will update when arrangements are available.
