After many months of planning we finally have moved to a point where we will dedicate our library. Agreement was achieved for its name which is: the Cowden-Smith Library. The dual name honors the first librarian, Annabelle Cowden and the most recent librarian, Natalie Smith. I posted the sad news of Natalie's unsuspected death that has had us scurrying around in an attempt to restore organization and functionality to the library. The dedication will be attended by Jim Smith, Elder and husband of Natalie. He will be presented with a certificate to recognize both his and Natalie's many contributions to the church's Mission and Ministries. We discovered a photograph of Mrs Cowden and are matching its size with one of Natalie. Both will be on permanent display in the library. Meanwhile, the church signage is being revamped which has influenced the sign we planned for the library entrance. However, the look is crisp and easy to read. The plan is to expect 20-30 people for a short ceremony after our traditional service, present Jim with the certificate. have a prayer then all will give Jim a warm hug! After this event is over a small group of us will focus our attention on the matters of clear policies of use and policies for those who will volunteer to staff the library for a couple of hours each weekday.
