Greetings!

Let’s continue to pray for the people of Israel and the innocent people of Gaza.

Everly Bolton posted pictures and information about something her church’s library team has added to their collection. Great ideas here

Church Cookbooks?

Great responses last week to church cookbooks and cookbooks in general in our collections. Emily Belz is a staff writer for Christianity Today. She is writing about what happened to church cookbooks; do any churches still produce them? What is the story and timeline of their decline? Do librarians keep these archived?”

Click here to fill out her questionnaire. And click here to participate in a CLN discussion about church cookbooks. And what about cookbooks in general in our collections?

What is the Scope of Your Church Library?

Let’s continue responding to Melanie’s question this week. Melanie Makin is a new CLN member. She is starting a great conversation for us to share what we do and who we are in the life of your church families. Her questions are broad so select what you would like to share in this conversation. Click here

“People Don’t Want a Friendly Church”

Everly Bolton shared an experience they had that directly shows our church libraries connects people in significant relationships at church. What do you find here?

Church Library Ministry Information Service: FREE

Last week I introduced our new “free” access to this resource. I was consumed this past week with other responsibilities and with preparations for the North Alabama conference which was great! So, this week I'm going to start figuring out strategies for us to update this resource here on the CLN.

Let's start with history. On pages 8-10, you will find the history of Southern Baptist Church Library Ministry. Those of you in other denominations, do you have resources that contain the history of your denomination’s Church Library Ministry? Click here

The World Radio

In case you did not hear the two recent podcasts focused on church libraries, they featured two members of the CLN: Denise Roberts and Joan Hoyt. In fact, last Tuesday we had 14 new CLN members as a result of these podcasts stemming from The World Radio.
