Hi Everyone!

Now that July 4 is behind us, our churches are transitioning to the new church year. We represent churches and synagogues that have a variety of approaches to this transition. For the next few weeks let’s share with each other about these transitions.

Budget Preparations

We’ve already been discussing the budget. Suncrest shared their budget categories last Tuesday. Click here to read the current discussion and to add your suggestions.

Inventory

How do you approach the inventory task? For our growing number of new librarians joining the CLN, share your inventory tips whether you conduct the inventory manually or with software. If you are new, ask questions. Click here

Serving the Ministries

Now is a great time to contact your age group ministers, women’s ministers, men’s ministers, and other ministers to discuss how the church library can assist their plans for the new ministry year. A common question for all of them involves their disciple making approaches. Will they have group Bible studies and/or Bible-based studies during the week? Does the library provide materials the leaders use such as kits? Click here

Events

This Saturday, the Middle Tennessee Church Library Ministry Network is gathering. Everyone is welcome! Click here.

Topics?

What is a topic you wish we would grapple with on the CLN? Post the topics here. I will start a separate discussion starter for each one according to the appropriate tab.

To add a post to any of our pages, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the tab you want to add a post.
  2. Click on the red box below the tabs to the right of the page to open a form to fill out for your post.
  3. When you complete the form, click on Save and Publish.
  4. If you see a need to edit your post, click on the red box with a pen to the right side of your screen.

May God bless your ministry transition steps this week!
