I'm a WSJ subscriber and read this article when it was published. My thought was that it's too bad people need a place to go in order to be quiet enough to read. They have to be forced to turn off all distractions and sit with a book. Somehow I am able to do that at home.

I have quiet spots in my house, but if you're like me, the house is like a husband's/spouses' office, and everything distracts you.
