On Reading Well

Just released by Brazio (Baker Books). I can't wait to use this book with a small group on Wednesdays at my church. I'm thinking it will be a perfect book for a small group study or book club sponsored by church libraries. Some of you have pastors and staff who discount the value of fiction for making disciples. Here's a book that is highly recommended to pastors and staff as well as the rest of us.

  • Thanks, Jenn!!

  • Glad to hear this.  I am eagerly awaiting The Book Girl Bundle from Baker Books.  On Reading Well is in that bundle.  I will let you know my thoughts on it soon!

  • I just finished reading the book On Reading Well by Karen Swallow Prior. Excellent book for our libraries. AND perfect for book clubs for adults and small groups. Includes discussion questions for each chapter. I can't wait to use it with a small group. Each chapter focuses on a virtue. Prior uses her literary and theology skills to draw life implications from the experiences of the characters in each book. I found myself highlighting sentences throughout this book.

I just discovered it is on sale right now at LifeWay.com for $5. Click here.
