Accelerated Reader Books

We have recently discovered that many of our "JF" books are in the Accelerated Reader Program in the elementary schools.  We are promoting this with our church family which will help increase circulation in addition to giving the public school children an alternative to any secular titles in their classrooms.

Our FBC Library Workers have gone to the AR BOOKFINDER Webpage to obtain information needed for labels that are placed inside the front cover of the books.  We have included the author, title, book level, points, and Quiz #.    As you can see on the picture, we have added little red dots below the spine label so the children can easily identify the AR Books.

The easiest way to start this project is search the AR site for the titles already on your shelves.

  • We have done the same thing of obtaining AR information about books we already own. Is there a way to search for books to add for specific reading levels? I want books worthy of being read by young Christian readers, of course.
  • Thanks for this information, Linda. Just this weekend at the Tennessee library conference in Bartlett, we had some questions about this in the Concourse class.  And I was looking at that AR site last night to find some suitable books for someone who needed some books to read above her grade level.  You have developed a good system!  As we add items, we can also add the information in the database  to make it searchable for our users as well.
