What is the best software for church libraries? I am new to this and need to catalog our library and and automate the check out and check in process as we do not have a full time librarian. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

We are using Concourse from BookSystems, and it seems to really be working well for us, very user-friendly and customer service has been great! We're fairly new to it, but have found it to be much better for us than the system that previously used. They seemed to be very cost-efficient for us and our annual customer service fee is very reasonable, includes all updates. I would definitely recommend for you to check into it. Blessings to you on this endeavor!
I know "Depends" is a frustrating answer, but in this case it is a good one. The first questions to ask are what you need it for and how you plan to use it, then to see what package is best at meeting those needs. The size of your collection and of the church may influence the answer as well.
The Library Concepts that advertises here is a good one. I haven't reviewed the different programs lately, to be honest.
I'll be glad to give you additional help, if you can give me some more input on what you need and what you may like or dislike about what you may have already seen.

I am looking at Libraryworld because there will be no hardware cost. I will not have to worry about keeping backups, I can set it up so that patrons can do self checkouts and I can enter books from home. If you know anything that I should know about Libraryworld I sure would appreciate the information.
I looked at this also and it looks like a great program and cost is extremly competative. It didn't have all the features we needed at our church ( Pleasant Valley Baptist Church) so we went with Atriuum which is made by booksystems which has more features, but cost me $3000. I think that the way the Libraryworld is going that they soon will be there also but at a more affordable cost. Any questions please contact me at dray@pleasantvalley.org
