  • Central Alabama would like to invite you to attend the Central Alabama Library Conference on Saturday March 4th. at Shoal Creek Baptist church in Deatsville, Al. Why not make plans to take a Road Trip to Wetumpka, Al where Ben and Erin filmed Home Town Take over and attend the conference that is about 12 miles away from Wetumpka, The Hampton in located in Wetumpka is offering a reduced rate if you are attending this event.
  • Even though I don't live in Fla. I do live near thaere and am willing to travel to fla. I live in Central Al., so it is not too far. When we have workshops/Conferences we invite Librarians from surrounding states to attend. The next scheduled conference in Al. is the North Al. Conference the 1st weekend in NOV.

  • Thank you for clarifying that for us! :)

  • Let me see what I can find out for you.

  • I would like to get in touch with the young man that was at the Spring Conf at Myrtle Lake and just starting a library  as I had 2 doz or so books dropped off at my library and they are all duplicates

  • I assume by active you mean open at least on Sunday with people who come get books & movies regularly and maybe story time or other activities at other times then yes there are several

Are you looking to open or close one

  • Is anyone in Florida still active in Church Library ministry?

  • Way to go, Carol!  What a beginning for a new school year.  Church libraries have a great opportunity to reacfh out to homeschoolers.  We have quite a few homeschoolers and they add a new dimension to our ministry.  We're having an open house for the public on Sunday.  Our pastor has encouraged us to have one since we are open to the public but have not advertised  it.
  • We just had our Back-to-School Day for our homeschoolers.  God blessed us with 76 people!  We had to set up the event in the sanctuary and fellowship hall as well as the library to accomodate them all!  I am looking forward to sharing with the group in Plant City in Sept.!  We had 24 that were unchurched so the fields are white and ready for harvest!  That is why the library is a ministry!  What an opportunity God has given us!!!

  • I plan on attending the Sept. 17th meeting (Lord willing) and will bring 2-3 of my workers with me. We look forward to sharing time. Do I need to bring any "tools" such as Dewey etc.?

We would love to have all of you who can, attend the Central Florida Church Library Spring Conference on April 9th at Idlewild Baptist Church. The theme is "Connecting the Church Library Ministry with the Church". We will be looking at new and tried and true ways to get the church involved with the library ministry and the library ministry involved with the church. Idlewild's library team will lead the discussions, but we encourage attendees to bring their own ideas, displays, posters, flyers,…
