What will we be doing?? Why should you come?
1. Get more details on how our Fall Festival of Authors event is shaping up (October 8th in Cypress):
- ask any questions you have
- pick up brochures and posters for publicity in your church and neighborhood
- get some other publicity ideas
2. Pray together for our Fall Festival of Authors
3. Hundreds of brand new books from Waterbrook and Multnomah publishing will be available to take home to your libraries!
- courtesy of Gospel Literature International, a ministry associated with Gospel Light.
- both fiction and nonfiction books, mostly adult, but some teen and children's books
- from the past 5-8 years
- fill in missing books from fiction series
- replace your old, tattered copies
- get a good sense of what you need before you come!
- Doors will open at 10:00 AM for "shopping" for half an hour, and again at 11:30 after the meeting
- If your ministry is able, a cash donation to missions as a thank you to this company and Granada Friends church would be very appreciated.
4. Fellowship around lunch at a nearby restaurant - reasonable prices
- we often don't have extra time to just socialize and catch up with each other, so this is a great opportunity!

I'm looking forward to sharing about our upcoming event - the Fall Festival of Authors. We have two fabulous speakers: Bill Myers and Diana Wallis Taylor. Bill is well-known but Diana is realtively new to Christian fiction. I enjoyed her book about the Samaritan woman in "Journey to the Well." She had a completely different "take" on her than we normally associate with her. It's obvious from her writing that Diana did a lot of research in preparation.
I'm looking forward to meeting her in person - I've enjoyed our email chats as we've worked out plans together as one of our speakers. And I've heard Bill is a wonderful speaker as well. Anyone in the So. Cal area - plan to come! There will be a number of other local Christian authors making this a very special opportunity to meet so many at one time. Tickets sold in advance only.
