People ask us for recommendations for devotionals even though we may not include devotional books in the collection because people would check them out for a year.

What do you recommend they purchase for devotional books for children that have devotionals that have a story about children their age with a Bible-based truth and prayer thought for each day?

  • We rarely purchase devotional books for out library, but if it is very popular as per author, genre, subject, we do aquire it and check it out so that person interested in it can see if it is something worth purchasing for themselves.  Plus some people enjoy them so much they read it like a regular book.:)

  • Although we rarely purchase devotional books for adults because they are rarely checked out, we have 3 books for children by Louis Giglio that contain 100 devotions each: Indescribable, The Wonder of Creation, and How Great is Our God.  We also have Roars Like a Lion by Levi Lusko and I Am by Diane M. Stortz.  Because they are relatively new in the library, we haven't received much feedback yet.  I apologize if these comments show up twice; they disappeared off my page the first time around befor posting, I think.

  • I've only had a few minutes during the past week to shop for such a devotional for children. These may only be available as dated magazines or leaflets connected to Bible study curriculum materials. I've emailed the kids publisher in chief at Lifeway.
