Recently, Lifeway.com no longer has this resource for sale. As I have done with other Lifeway church library ministry resources that went out of print, I asked the Publishing Vice President if they would consider giving us a license to give away the pdf edition. Without hesitation, he agreed.
The original edition was published in 2004. Our team updated it in 2013. What about the changes in church libraries in the past 10 years? I have already started attaching this book to reply emails to our new members who are all starting or restarting or revitalizing church libraries. I am giving it to all of you now.
This resource is linked to all the EQUIP courses on the CLN. As time permits, I am updating all the courses to change the link to the free pdf and rethink the courses. We have lots of article links to Lifeway.com that no longer work since they changed to a merchandise website. I will also add a notice about the free pdf because I know I will not have time to go through all the other tabs to change the link.
NOTE: Since the CLMIS pdf is free, you are welcome to duplicate all of the pdf or parts of it for your team. Copyright laws require us not to duplicate pdf resourses that are for sale. That means we cannot duplicate the pdf A Classification System for Church Libraries.
Next week we will start discussing content that needs 2023 updates.

I was consumed this past week with other responsibilities and with preparations for the North Alabama conference which was great! So, this week I'm going to start figuring out strategies for us to update this resource. Let's start with history. On pages 8-10, you will find the history of Southern Baptist Church Library Ministry. Those of you in other denominations, do you have resources that contain the history of your denomination's Church Library Ministry? Please share what you have in a comment.
