What is new in your church’s or synagogue’s library ministry? Hopefully new books, but what about other ways of having something new? I have something new to share but I can’t get my iPhone to send the photos to my email account where I can download the photos to my laptop. I'll add our new "thing" Wednesday while I am in the Enrichment Center. Notice I am putting this discussion in the Emerging Church Libraries category. Anything new puts us in the Emerging catagory, right?

We now have a puzzle swap at the library. We have a few shelves with puzzles and anyone can drop off a puzzle and take one off the shelf. (we have a sign explaining the puzzle swap). Most people return the puzzles (we don't require it) so we now have quite a collection. We usually have about 12-15 puzzles on the shelf and keep the rest in storage. We change the puzzles on the shelf to fit the seasons. We also try to stock puzzles of different pieces for all ages. It's very popular (especially for families and our seniors) and bring people into the library!
