I would like other librarian's take on the What's in the Bible series with Buck Denver (from the creator of Veggie Tales).
Any complaints from anyone? Is it scriptural? Does it stick to the Bible or make things up? I am encouraged by his use of the English Standard Version of the Bible.

I have a few of the DVD's from this series. Phil Vischer is the original creator of VeggieTales in 1993. He was way ahead of his times in creating a producing the VeggieTales series and ended up selling the rights to these tales or he may have even gone bankrupt over the rights to keep the tales Christian based. He has a book, Me, Myself, and Bob that tells the wonderful Christian story of this man. Worth reading. Now he has created the What's in the Bible series. I truly believe that these are Bible Based and well worth the purchase. Unfortunately, they are not as popular with the kids as the VeggieTales. Please keep in mind that VeggieTales not currently owned by a Christian based company (not sure if its Disney or something of the likeness). Keep in mind to review each DVD. NBC at one time aired these Tales, but they stripped all of the reference to God out of the Tales. Be cautious especially of the Christmas & Easter Tales (St. Nick & Easter Bunny are main characters). We have a local WI Lutheran retail bookstore and you can purchase the Tales from them from behind the counter, but not openly on the shelves. What's in the Bible is true to the gospel. Good Luck.
That's what I wanted to know. We will not be putting any Veggie Tales in because of the sale. I don't think they did my kids any harm except for that catchy song, The Bunny, the bunny- oh I ate the bunny. I just wanted to know if it was sound scripturally. I'm going to put one toe in the water, and get one of them the next time a coupon comes up.
Thanks. I'm going to try one or two at least to see what the reaction is. We are not planning to show them at church- just for home-use and I will put a label on them. We have a handicapped "lamb's" class for disabled members- autism, the like. I guess home use would not cover them showing that in their Church-time hour?
