In general, how long does your library keep collections of magazines? Should issues be weeded after 5 or 10 years, or does it depend on the subject matter? While I'm at it, do your magazines circulate outside your library? Thanks!

We too keep our magazines for two years. We even bind some of them and keep them permanently. We do not let patrons check out magazines. So many magazines are going all digital now that our selection is down.
We generally keep our magazine for two years. That's partly based on our storage capabilities. I'm not sure what you mean by "magazines circulate outside your library?" We generally recycle the magazines after two years. If patrons want to take the magazines and circulate after two years, that is fine. Good question. I suggest that your denomination magazines, you might consider longer than two years. Our church office keeps copies as well, so we have it covered.
