Yesterday I had an amazing experience with a couple who visited our church for the first time. They were in the Enrichment Center when I got there after Sunday School. Both were very excited about our library! We had a delightful conversation about the role church libraries have played in their lives. What about your Sunday morning amazing experiences? Let’s share our stories.

  • I enjoyed finding out the needs for resources that Sunday School teachers had and also general themes to support them with books. For example the preschool classes generally had a 5-10 minute slot to fill and we provided appropriate books that reinforced or retold the lesson. Our Wednesday evening Summer program had an overarching theme and we provided books at all reading levels to reinforce the class theme such as Fruit of the Spirit. And additionally we provided teacher resources such a Science Experiments the Illustrated Biblical principles...that was a huge hit! I LOVED being able to come alongside the teachers.

  • I MUST respond as I also had an amazing Sunday morning in the library! Two people handed me cash for 1) a book that was VERY late and 2) a general donation to support the library and for prizes related to our upcoming I Love to Read Challenge! The second donor said, "I like what you are doing here! There are fewer places now to access books like these!"

Our library is a team effort and I acknowledged that! May I remember how important words of encouragement are.
