Results of Survey

Please remember that these are the surveys that I had access to once they were returned, due to circumstances with people involved. I however wanted to share what I could in hopes that it may help someone here.

We asked how our library could help with the ministry and spiritual growth of their child. They asked for early reader books, Children’s chapter books, heroic and faith-filled stories, interactive media for the kids, and study materials for them.

We asked what programs they might like to see put in place. We got an overwhelming response for a summer reading program and a weekly or monthly book time for younger children who are not in school mixed in with storytime or craft time.

Overwhelmingly they responded they would hope to have a Christian-based book fair. I know these used to be done almost every year many moons ago in our church. I am however not sure how you would go about it in terms of today. Maybe someone here would have some ideas to share.

When asked what books they might be interested in coming to the library here are the responses:

Christian chapter books for kids and Early Reader books

Faith-based, heroic good stories, good Christian poetry

Veggie Tales

Education

Educational/Christian based

Small Groups and Guides

Board books for younger kids

Fearless Parenting (adult); Wonderfully Made (Adult); Gods Glorious Girls (kid); Power of a Praying Girl (kid); Thank You, Lord, for Everything (kid)

I was surprised by two categories the adult fiction romance and the adult fiction mystery/thriller. Our current director has about 85 -90% of our shelves filled with these books. Yet our adults don't seem to care for them.
