  • Recently at Life Way I found the following books I want to add to the list of books on grief. Grieving God's Way: the path to lasting hope and healing by Margaret Brownley; Grief: Walking with Jesus by Bob Kellemen, and a Grief Share devotional Through a Season of Grief by Bill Dunn and Kathy Leonard. These are the same devotionals that,by signing up, can be received in your daily e-mails for one year.

  • This week I read a children's book that is well done by Christine Harder Tangvald called Someone I love died. Also found this book on our church library shelf and I started reading it; How to handle grief, Tracks of a Fellow Struggler by John Claypool. I also found this book by Paul W. Powell, Death from the other side, Your Ministry to the Bereaved. I am reading Nancy Guthrie's book Hearing Jesus Speak into your Sorrow and found it to be excellent. The small purple book Prayers for Difficult Times-women's edition by Barbour Publishing Company makes a meaningful gift. I have seen it at Wal-Mart. Many of the books I have listed are small in size and are easy to handle. For some reason that helps me right now. Blessings.

  • Please add Life after Grief, choosing the path of healing by Rebecca Hayford Bauer; Grace for the Widow, a journey through the fog of loss, by Joyce Rogers; Though I Walk Through the Valley by Vance Havner and This Life I Live by Rory Feek.

  • Experiencing Grief by Norm Wright - tiny but great book recommended by our church's spiritual care pastor.

  • Here are some books on grief that I have found helpful. Beyond the Sorrow by Tammy Trent, When You Lose Someone You Love by Richard Exley, A Widow's Journey by Gayle Roper, A Severe Mercy by Sheldon Vanauken, Prayers of Hope for the Brokenhearted by Jill Kelly, Grief Therapy by Karen Katafiasz( Elf help book), What Grieving People Wish You Knew,  One Year Book of Hope devotional, & Holding onto Hope by Nancy Guthrie, Through the Valley of Tears by Dr. Cyril J. Barber and Sharalee Aspenletter, Loneliness by by Elizabeth Elliot, Living Through the Loss of Someone You Love by Sandra Aldrich, Overcoming Grief by Joyce Meyer, booklet, Getting Through the Night by Eugenia Price, A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis, Dancing in the Arms of God by Connie Neal (not familiar with this one), and books by Catherine Marshall. Hope this list will be helpful. Blessings.
