Read the Bible Through 2026

I'm sure my church is not the only one launching an emphasis to Read the Bible through the coming year. I just finished the 2025 plan. The new plan for 2026 focuses on the New Testament. One difference that I am sure will draw more people to participate: One chapter per day instead of 2 chapters per day. And we start January 5 with Matthew 1 to read straight through to Revelation 12 the week of December 14. As I look at the plan, I'm thinking about ways the Enrichment Center can enrich this reading plan.

How have you connected the library collection to the annual Bible reading plan for your church/synagogue/parish family?

  • Yesterday, our pastor launched our 2026 Read the New Testament through the year plan. I was surprised by how many people dropped by the library asking for commentaries and other books to assist them in finding answers to questions as they read one chapter a day. We've not had this type of response in previous years. I put the study Bibles we have in our collection along with CSB Harmony of the Gospels in our main display window. I'll be purchasing The New Testament Handbook published by Holman. I also plan to make our Discipleship Ministry staff aware of these plans so that they will include them in their announcements.
