I use all the standard sources, i.e., Amazon, Christian Book Distributors, and Thrift for older books, but I have found that several of the book companies want to work with librarians. Crossway is one, and they allow a very good discount if you are buying for your church. Going direct often gives me a better price and free shipping if I buy several at a time. Baker Books and Crossway also give discounts that are often 40% off if you preorder. Also, if you know particular authors that you like, you can sign up for their newsletters or follow them on FB, and they will often give you a chance to get their books for a lower price, especially if you preorder.
I always check all the local church rummage sales for 2 reasons: 1 to make sure none of our missing books have been donated (BELIEVE ME it is amazing how many of our books i have found and had to purchase or make a donation for). 2. easy way to save money and get fairly good books.

I love your wish list idea and having people looking at resale shops. That is excellent.
For older, no longer in print books: www.thriftbooks.com
Baker Book House in Grand Rapids, MI (pre-order prices on soon-to-be-coming books, especially fiction, are very good, plus no shipping on those).
