Girl Politics by Nancy Rue is excellent choice for girls 6-8 graders. Deals with cliques and girl politics at a crucial age. All of Nancy Rue books are good - geared towards elementary and middle grades. Nice to hear that you are pursuing books for your library in deal with this subject vs. skirting these issues under the carpet. Blessings

Thank you for another resource option! I think we have ignored these issues too long!! In general, in these areas, the world's influence is not being challenged by the biblical worldview.
Secret Keeper: The Delicate Power of Modesty By: Dannah Gresh published by Moody Publishes
Publisher's Description:
EVERY WOMAN IS BORN WITH POWER!
We live in the age of low-rise jeans, belly-button rings, and backless shirts. Many girls and young women today could not even define the word modesty, let alone tell you how to live it out. Teen girls often ask:
Why can't I wear what everyone else is wearing? My parents are hung up on their old sense of fashion. Times have changed, why can't I? Isn't is really the guy's problem if he is tempted?
In a fresh and trusted voice, Dannah Gresh has a new message for them: modesty itself is a delicate yet formidable power. In Secret Keeper, she teaches that modesty not only issues a challenge for one man to romantically earn your virtue, but it also expresses your love for and obedience to God.
Includes The "Truth or Bare" Fashion Tests and Fashion Challenges that will resonate with a teen girl.
There's also a related journal:
Secret Keeper Devos journal is a great follow-up study to the Secret Keeper book. It invites teenage girls to interact with biblical texts on modesty and God's view of true beauty. With blank pages for the reader's responses, this 30-day devotional will challenge girls to view themselves as masterpieces created by God. Includes 20 perforated cards with text on both sides.
Fashioned by Faith by Rachel Lee Carter, c 2011, published by Thomas Nelson. ISBN: 978-1-4003-1692-2.
From the back cover: "International model Rachel Lee Carter shares her story of being modest in an often-immodest industry. Sure, we live in a "skin-is-in" society, but what do guys really think when girls follow those revealing trends? More important, what does God think?"
She includes what guys say about modesty, what she has learned in her career, and what God's Word teaches. Follow-up questions are at the end of each chapter and the book also includes a nine-week Bible study.
Rachel spoke at the 2011 Ridgecrest CLM event and is a very beautiful and humble young woman.
Every Young Woman's Battle- cannot remember author- she's written a series for women, men, and young men, and young women. Also, In the Best Possible Light - Beneth Peter Jones- which shows girls how to choose clothing based on body type to show off best features.
When chuck colson was still doing Breakpoint, there was a woman at Harvard who was doing a lot on modesty, and saying no. I'll see if I can find it.
