Library closed

Our pastor and church staff considered libraries obsolete and a waste of space. We had over 6,000 books and DVDs. Thee were all given away and the library space changed to a Welcome Center. I kept some of he books and DVDs and still have the library office. Do you think it possible to use the few I personally kept to start a mobile library each Sunday morning? Of course, the pastor and staff would have to okay it. I'm  really not sure how to go about it, but I miss the library. A few others also miss it.

  • That's so sad, but lots of churches are doing away with the libraries.  I think a small mobile library would be great.  You can change out books as you come across newer books that are priced low.

  • As you talk with your pastor and church staff, align your new ministry with the church's vision, mission, core values, and disciple making process. When they see you are carrying out the vision and mission of the church they will be more open to your new approach. I have more information on how to do such if you are interested.
