I have two sets of audio books of the Bible.  One is a KJV and the other NIV.  Each are more than 50 CD's.  How would you package and catalog these?

I'm thinking separating them into 6 disks or so and cataloging them that way.  My thinking is that if someone were to check out the WHOLE Bible at once, they'd need to have it checked out for a long time.

 Any thoughts/opinions are welcome.

 Thanks,

 Sharln Chapman

  • It would be interesting if you had circulation data from some libraries that have packaged audio bibles is different ways.  i may be wrong but I'm guessing that these audio bibles won't be high  circulating items. Why not circulate the complete sets, esp. if them are already in a suitable form?  If they turn out to be in high demand, then you can break them down into smaller units.

  • I would do as you've described - separate them.  Yes, it's a lot of work, but I think it would be worth it.  And that way, more than one person could be using it at a time.

  • In the past we too separated these big sets into smaller sets but as of late we just check out the whole multi disc set. Lot of work to separate and package and catalog in smaller groups. It's true they can't listen to the whole thing in the check out period given but in many cases they are only interested in maybe just a book of the Bible they are studying.
