I would like some sharp quotes from well known people about the value of reading. I am trying to overcome a mind set that sees reading as a low priority.

Go to google.com and enter quotations:reading to get lots of quotations. Notice the colon between quotations and reading. It's not showing up very well with my small type face.

Begin a facebook page for your library. List your new items of course, but bring out short reviews on some well known books. Use quotes from some and ask which book they came from - offer a gift card or something. It will be interesting. I was always taught that reading puts you a step ahead - after all, we who don't read or no better off than those who can't read.
