  • We normally put the lead actor in as the author, it that is available, unless there is an well-known author, such as LaHaye for the left behind series. For those that do not have an actor (e.g., VeggieTales), we put in the producer, which is Big Idea for VeggieTales.

As Rita mentioned, most people look for the title. We have found that some ask for the actor. We do make sure that we include the series and # in the series on the spine. For example, Love Comes Softly on the spine would be:
    FIC -- Category
    Oke -- Author
LCS #1 -- Series and place in series
DVD -- Type of media. We only do this for non-books, as some of our CD holders looks like DVDs, and vice versa.
  • We catalog our DVDs the same as our books. We list the producer, director, etc. on the page, but not on the spine labels. We use title entry as the author because no one is interested in the other information but us. They are looking for title and that is it. I don't use actor's names except for our information.
