I am a new church librarian, learning a LOT! I have some donated books, as well as some used books I purchased, which are in excellent condition except for inscriptions on the inside cover, or library stamps and pockets from the public library. I would like to cover these pages with some kind of heavy white paper. I know I can sometimes simply remove a page, but this is not always possible. 2 questions: what is the best way to remove the page? and what is the best way to cover the page? If the inscriptions aren't too long, put liquid paper dryline on top of it. This has worked for us in our library. When there is a pocket that needs to be removed, just cut the top off and leave the back glued to the book. You could put your library information on top of this.
I have had this happen in the past. When we were unable to remove the page, we used an attractive sticker which we designed and printed, to place over the inscription. If possible, the exacto knife works well to cut out the page right against the binding. Careful though, don't cut deeply.
