Church website

I am looking for ideas on what to include about the library on the churches website.  We do not have the level of software to put the catalog online.  I have looked at some bigger church websites near me (Dalhart, TX) and either they don't have a library anymore or they just don't put any info online about it.

  • I already have my church library cataloged with Book Systems. Could Library Thing work with automation software? Could all my data be electronically downloaded?
    • Hi Joanna,

Wish I could help you, but I simply don't know. We didn't have the funding to set up anything, so our local public library suggested I use librarything.com.  I don't know what it connects with or how your Book Systems works.

you might go to librarything and ask them.  they have a good support system available.  You can sign up for free and post hundreds of books for free. I can't remember now, but I'm thinking we paid something like $15 or $20 for a lifetime membership and unlimited listings.

  • If you would like to put your library books on line, consider using https://www.librarything.com/. We have some 1,000 books cataloged there. anyone from their home can look up books by author, title, or subject.  It works for us.

I also have a category set up for a want list and a "Swap books" list so that other church libraries can share books with us.

it's relatively easy to use. when you want to add titles, simply key in the ISBN number and all the data on the book comes up.

If it doesn't come up on librarything I go to https://www.worldcat.org/ to find more info on the books.
