Hello:
I have a question about fiction series that are not numbered and/or do not have anything to do with each other except for the series title. I am referring to the Love finds you series and Romancing America series. With the Love finds you series I did the F/series#/author making up my own series # using the list at the back of the books. However with the Romancing America series, there does not seem to be any list I can find. Many of the older books were donated to us, but I see they are still coming out with books in the "series". Should I just use the card catalog to enter the series title and not worry about a number or series indicator on the spine? Or should I use F/series/author with Rom as the spine series, keeping all the Romancing America books together on the shelf without a #?
Thanks for all suggestions.
Carol

If it seems important to keep them together, that is a good way to do it. You can determine "age" --therefore number in the series -- by using the copyright date if you want to, but if you don't have all of the series, it might be confusing when someone wanted to "read the next one." Might be best not to have a number.
We have some of the Love finds you books, but did not choose to place them together. I wasn't sure how many we would end up purchasing and just placed them by author's name, but we do have the series title entered into the database. If someone is interested in reading all of the ones we have, they can find them.
