OUR CHURCH USES OPALS for 4 years and I love it. Cross platform, internet based, OpenSource, easy to use. https://opalsinfo.net/ gives sales info but this link will let you see how easy it is https://opalsinfo.net/
Kim,
In the church library we use Concourse, but at work I use Atriuum. We got it in February 2017 and it was easy to learn, yet has a lot of functionality. These are our stats from then until today:
We've been able to catalog the entire genealogy collection and can account for all of the equipment we have. Using various reports we also found that 3,790 items were missing from the collection. We are able to mark them lost in Atriuum to account for them. Everybody in the library can catalog now. I create mini-cataloging projects to work on problems that we find.
The reports is one of its best features. I brought up all of the above information quickly and easily using two reports. This makes it very easy to do our state reporting. I can also make my own report, save it, and reuse it.
I don't know about the Mac part of it but we are more than satisfied with what we have. But the best thing is the customer service.
Rhonda
There are two systems I know of that are web-based (therefore, cross-platform) and are popular in church libraries: Atriuum and CONCEPT III. (See their ads on this page's right column.)
Both systems work on Macs, PCs, Chromebooks, iPads, Android, and smartphones of every type. Atriuum is more widely used and is quite flexible. CONCEPT III is a bit more basic, intuitive to use and less expensive. Either will serve your library well.
To be perfectly honest, my church library uses CONCEPT III, and we love it. I do work for Library Concepts. I might have a bias:-)
