  • We have had a Book Club, Page Turners, since 2022.  It meets the last Tuesday at 5 in our Youth room which has sectional couches and comfortable chairs.  Each member brings a light snack and each takes a turn suggesting a book to read and leads the discussion the next month.  We have 1 hard copy and and a multi-use Ebook copy on Libby.  The book is announced in church publications and on our OPAC website, which is reached through our church website.  Average attendance range is 6-10.

  • We will have 3 reading groups in the Spring just like we had during the Fall this year. Our new men's group that started in August have decided to continue in the Spring. We had a total of 28 adults in these 3 groups. Each person selects his or her books to read from the Enrichment Center. When we meet on Wednesdays we each get to share what God did in our lives the week before as we read the books. Very successful in deepening our relationship with Jesus and with each other.

  • Our library has had a book club for almost 15 years!  We've tried a variety of formats, but typically pick our books for the following year in December.  We meet on the first Monday of each month. Books are normally Christian Fiction award winners.  We have the same basic questions each month (favorite character, least favorite character, passage for discussion, etc).  We go in a circle answering each question.  A challenge is finding enough copies of the book for all participants.  It limits which books we can read to those that have copies in the public library as well as the church library.

  • There are several, but only one that is run by the library. It's called Literary Ladies and it's a bookclub that reads Christian Fiction. Tomorrow we will be discussing The Masterpiece by Francine Rivers.

  • I have three book clubs in three different churches. The oldest one has been reading a book a month since April of 1998. It has had consistently had between 9 and 12 members. The other ones are not as old, but have about the same number of members. We usually read secular books and often find a faith component in them. It is just fun to talk about books.

    1. We had a book club for a number of years and just discontinued this year. The most we had was 8 and last year , for a number of reasons, the number in attendance was often 3. We decided everyone was just too busy.  We had someone lead the discussion , met at different homes and had light refreshments.
