I have had our secretary open the library during office hours for people to self check books and I go up once a week to wipe down books and stuff...but I am wondering if we should completely close down because we are not isolating books and wiping down things between patrons.

  • We have been completely shut down since April 1st. People have called begging for books (phone transferred to home phone) but we are not allowed to open. Telling everyone to just keep books they have until we reopen. Some are being returned in book drop. I go in once a week to check those in and wipe them down. Our eBook check outs are booming. Hope we can reopen physical library soon. Be safe God bless.
    • We've been closed since March 12th.  We told patrons to hold items that they have checked out.  I can work remotely, answering questions, scanning and emailing (within copyright limits) from our personal library, and moving requests to e-resources (ours and the many that have been become available since this situation began). We're using Zoom for one-on-one instruction of how to sign on and download e-books from our newly launched OverDrive site.  Thanks to Paul Adams for his help in answering many questions that helped us to launch. We list many online resources available in the links tab on the Atriuum OPAC (thanks BookSystems!)  Association of Christian Librarians has also been helpful during this time.  Thanks to Morlee too, for her timely article about storytime.  Blessings to all.

  • I vote you close down for now. I'm surprised you church building is still open. However Texas has different requirements than Tennessee.
