Church Library Ministry Promotion
CHURCH LIBRARY MINISTRY PROMOTION ACTIVITIES:
- READ/CONFERENCE: Read the following AND/OR participate in a conference on promotion activities: “Creating Media Clubs for All Ages” (Church Library Ministry Information Service, pp. 147-150).
- INTERVIEW: Talk with a church librarian or library team about activities they have used or plan to use in the future. Discuss the outcome or intended outcome of each. Ask what things worked for them and what did not work. Discuss planning and implementation ideas. To find someone to interview, go to the CLN Members page.
- DEVELOP: Use what you have learned by working with your church's library team to develop two activities for the library. Possible ideas: Children or Adult Book Club, Preschool Story Time, Book Discussion Group, Open House, Contests, Instructional Classes (Computer, Taxes, Power Point, etc.)
- IMPLEMENT: With your church's library team, pick one of the activities you developed and implement it in your library.
- EVALUATE: Ask questions. In what ways did the activity bring the desired outcome? After completing the evaluation and making the necessary revisions in the process, please share your new ideas with other librarians at the CLN Circle.
