CHURCH LIBRARY MINISTRY PROMOTION OVERVIEW:

• READ/CONFERENCE: Read the following AND/OR participate in a conference on general promotion.

1. Church Library Ministry Information Service (Multiplying Modes of Promotion section, pp. 129-154)
2. Creating Promotion That Communicates

• INTERVIEW: Talk with a church librarian or library team about promotion ideas they have used or plan to use in the future. Discuss the areas of promotion that need more team members and also the effectiveness of the different areas of promotion they have used. Ask what things worked the best for them and what ideas did not work as well. Discuss planning and implementation ideas. Or talk with someone from the CLN Members page  about promotion ideas that have been the most successful.

• DEVELOP: Use what you have learned from your reading and interviews to help your library team with promotion. Work with the promotion team in developing a bulletin board, poster, bookmark, or activity.

• IMPLEMENT: Use what you have learned and developed to actually produce a bulletin board, poster, bookmark, or activity. Take pictures to share your project with others.

• EVALUATE: Ask questions and get feedback from others on the library team. Was the promotion item effective? Be sure to share with other librarians at the CLN Circle.
