Church Library Ministry Orientation
CHURCH LIBRARY MINISTRY ADMINISTRATION OVERVIEW:

• READ/CONFERENCE: Read pages 18-19 and 39-40 in Church Library Ministry Information Service and read through the Q&A on policies on the CLN AND/OR participate in a conference on Church Library Ministry Administration Overview.

• INTERVIEW the library ministry team leader to learn more about the ministry of the library in your church. Discuss the mission statement and policies of the library with your team leader. Interview a library team member from another church’s library who performs the same tasks as you. To find someone to interview go to CLN Members.

• DEVELOP a plan with your team leader to observe the various areas of work within the library.

• IMPLEMENT your observation plan.

• EVALUATE your observations after 2-3 months by talking with your team leader. Are you familiar with all of the policies within the library and why they are needed? Do you understand the vision of the mission statement and how it relates to the church?
