Hi Eva.  Thank you for your welcoming words.  I've been bumbling around for so long trying to get our library in order! I am so glad to have found this group of experienced church librarians who are willing to share their wisdom with novices like me.

Hi,Eva.  Thank you for getting in touch with me.  I came to this group because, although I have been a public librarian for 40 years, I'm just now taking on my church library after retiring.  The first thing the head of our Library Committee asked me to do is select a theme for our Summer Reading Program.  I've done about 30 years of these in public libraries but am having a hard time knowing how to do the same in a church library.  Do you have any thoughts?  Thank you again for your welcome.  Emily

Hi Eva,

Thank you so much for your warm welcome! There is so much information on this wonderful site. I just know I'll be able to learn many new things and put them to good use in our library. How long have you been a church librarian?

Looking forward to talking with you soon.

Dawn

Thank you for the thoughtful reminder about the upcoming conference. I have been eagerly planning to attend, but I did not know about the registration link. Thank you for sharing that. I am thrilled to attend and hope to meet you in person.

Thank you so much for the invitation to the conference in Decatur. I found the date back during the summer while I was doing some research for a class I was taking (I am currently working toward my degree in Library and Information Services). I am very excited to attend, and I have mentioned the conference to a few of my friends who have been in classes with me. Looking forward to attending and meeting you.

What an informative and excellent conference. I was truly blessed. After meeting with our Pastor Brian McLaughlin, our library ministry for Fairview is set to begin in January. Thank you for all the help to make this possible.

Dear Eva Nell,

I will know how difficult it is to get items back from "bonafide" members of the church as well as ones who profess to be members that are here today and gone tomorrow.

Thank you for your very helpful suggestions about homeschoolers.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you so much for the invitation to the Nov. 7 library conference.  I attended a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.  Unfortunately the timing doesn't work out for me to attend this year.  Hopefully I can go next year.  Thank you!

Have another classification question...Still working on getting my missionaries together.  This is for Lottie Moon. I have two different adult nf books about her.  The call number starts with 266, but after the decimal one is 61 and the other is 02373.  I have read and found out, I think) that the last one indicates foreign missions.  I can't seem to figure out the 61.  After all that, my question is whether the books need the exact same numbers?  I'd like them together on the shelf, but is that necessary?

Hello,

I hope you are well from the tornado's in your area.  I would love to hear from you.  My youngest daughter is in Harvest, near the Limestone County line.  She had signicant damage, but her family is ok.  Lots of devastation in their area.  They are still without power, but have a generator and are feeding and helping out lots of people.  I hope you and your loved ones are ok.  I am praying for you!  Theresa Broadway
