Good to know but sad to read. I am always amazed by the differences in different parts of the United States and the uniqueness of each church. Pew Research is reporting that print books are not going away. Several research studies on young adults are finding young adults prefer print these days instead of ebooks. My very savvy young adult niece who lives in New York City is one of those. The young adults in my church here in Nashville are thrilled that my church is opening our library "restart" as The Bridge and they want to have their small groups meet in The Bridge. They love libraries. But we live in the city that has the top award winner last year for public library system that has transitioned to the Social Library concept. All of the new members now for the CLN are all in churches that are starting or restarting libraries. And you will be seeing more and more stories here on the CLN about churches that are making that transition to become disciple making centers which is our version of social libraries. I encourage you to consider the Disciple Making Center model to present to your church leaders in a few months. Let me know if you would like to see what we have on that. Since your church is only interested in ebooks, what about setting up a kiosk with a laptop and become part of a consortuium. I see that your church has a book store so the way to purchase ebooks may already be happening there. I suggest you all consider an ebook consortium that you could do through the kiosk. Next week I hope to post an article about updated info on these consortiums.  Hopefully, the people in your church will raise a fuss that the library is closing. Or let it go and start something totally different like a Disciple Making Center. BTW, the children in your church who will only experience large groups will most likely drop out of church when they become adults. All the studies are showing the only reason young adults stay in church now is having had connections with significant adults such as their small group weekly teachers. Sounds like your church is taking that away from the children. Churches are messy these days. Know of my prayers for you and your church. Let's stay in touch. There really are some great things happening in the world of church libraries. Morlee
