I mentioned this in a previous post regarding an abundance of Devotionals and what to do with them. Thought it would be a good idea to post here as this works well at our church. We have an annual devotional exchange which takes place on the last Sunday in December and the first Sunday of January. Every November our church has an International Mission emphasis week. Our WMU and children’s mission groups lead the church in learning about missionaries in certain areas around the world. Our library staff decided this year we would not only support this church wide emphasis with resources, but with a hands-on International Day event in the library. Our church library was started, I believe, about 40 years ago. At the time it consisted of just a few shelves. About 36 years ago, it was taken over by a dedicated lady in our church who grew the library to thousands of items and a good circulation. When a new sanctuary was built, she was able to have a space for the library added right near one of the exits, just steps away from the sanctuary and that visibility has been such a boon for us.
