I have just finished reading this latest book by Elizabeth Musser (The Swan House, Searching for Eternity). I really enjoyed her previous books, mentioned above, and read this one in hopes of recommending it for our book club. I definitely plan to suggest it for our January title. It is intriguing the way the characters mesh in surprising ways. Mrs. Musser knows how to craft a great story while infusing it with spiritually important themes. Highly recommended!

I'll kick off The Circle with a book I just finished. It was great fun and mysterious at the same time. Michael Snyder gives his stories a great sense of humor. The mystery of a murder investigation is full of twists and turns. I highly recommend it for your consideration.

Touted as a Twilight alternative for the Christian fiction market, John Olson's Powers (and Shade before it) is a "super-natural thriller filled with menace, intrigue and relentless action" according to CBA Retailers and Resources. It released last week. Visit JohnBOlson.com for a free download of a comic adaptation of the book which is sure to thrill your YA crowd.

For many years I prepared the Counselor for TACMO "our library associational organization." I have samples of everything I wrote while at the Sunday School Board, except the Counselor. If any of you
have some of these, I would really appreciate it if you could send me some. Keith Mee, 1721 Totanka Ln. Knoxville, TN 37931.

There seems to be more and more books on our shelves by popular prolific authors that produce serials. The latest suggestion by our leaders is to add an extra line to the call number to identify the serial name and number. I've followed this suggestion (mostly.)
I've been wondering if it would be helpful to add call number title identification for non-serial books . This would help in shelving to put books for an author in order by title, with serials in order within the title… Continue

The Bradley Baptist (Cleveland, TN) Library organization is sponsoring a winter adult reading program. This year's theme is "Savor a Good Book" with the theme scripture: Matthew 5:13a, "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?"
Our idea is to decorate the display window with a kitchen theme including salt, pots, soup bowls, wooden spoons, measuring spoons, spices, dish towels, aprons, etc. For signing up to participate in the… Continue

I looked at YouTube for the first time today. I didn't realize that they had a search feature. For example go to https://www.youtube.com/ and in the search field enter "books book binding book repair" (without quotes).

I have a couple of sites that I use quite a bit to complete sets in our library. The first is www.cloydsbooks.com . This is an individual who buys retired pastors libraries and offers them to the public. Periodically, he offers books for as little as a dollar a piece and he picks up the shipping. I can't tell you how much this has meant to our library, it has really helped stretch our budget. Another site I use quite a bit is www.bookmooch.com this site is a great way to trade books that you… Continue

Woman's Missionary Union has published a new book called, "Molly's Adventures in
Missions" for preschoolers and children. In the book Molly learns what
church mission teams do when they go on their trips. In the back of
the book is Molly to cut out, laminate, and send off with mission
teams. They take pictures of Molly helping them on their mission trip
and share their pictures when they come back. It's another way to help
preschoolers and children learn about… Continue

Thank you, so much, for this website. Yes, I have at times felt like we're out here all on our own since we lost the Media magazine. I really miss that. I realize Lifeway has a page or two for libraries deep down in their website but I'm excited about this connection and look forward to being able to communicate with all of you other church librarians and staff, on our own site!
