I would like to add something I learned in Lib. Adm. class some time ago--the missionary biographies are to be saved, always, and the Bible commentaries are not dated. Then, since our space is not unlimited, I think it is good to have a "case" like the public library does where you can "save" such collectible books that are valuable for reference purposes, and yet do not circulate as well as current items. This would mean that the catalog would indicate location "case." This "case" is kept locked, and is accessible only with the assistance of the librarian at circulation desk. Some such volumes that come into our hands at times are rare books in our special field and we need to be sure they are kept safe. This would also be the place for the bound copies of the church clerk's records, and the church bulletins if you have them.
