Ruth (Ruthe) Turner replied to the discussion 'What are you doing about ebooks?'
" Especially during this "shelter in place" time, our ebooks usage has gone from about 7 ebook checkouts a day to 20 checkouts a day - in other words, we have about 200 happy readers so far this month.  There is a great article…"

Ruth (Ruthe) Turner replied to the discussion 'I need to completely reorganize the way we shelve DVDs.'
"Yes, we catalog our DVDs by Dewey.  We simply put DVD at the top of the spine label.  We catalog by age level, just like the books.  This is also how we catalog CDs."

I am visiting my children and grands in AZ and will be back about first week of March. I am having so much fun. I volunteered to tell stories to the local church where we attend. The sermon last Sunday was about service and so I thought, "maybe people think I am too old or too fragile to invite to tell stories now. I'll have to volunteer and then they have a choice." So I did and the pastor's wife is the head of the children's dept. so I saw her after church and volunteered. She knows me from my previous visits, and introduced me on a previous visit to the District Superintendant of Schools who belongs to that church,. She(the school super) then invited me to do a workshop for her teachers, and to tell stories all day long at an elementary school. She came and stayed all day long, in every session with the various grades, had me to lunch with the principal, and then introduced me to the teachers for the workshop. Then she bought copies of my book for every teacher of lower grades in her district!! Well, I am eagerly into my Bible now, choosing stories to prepare! Luv. mackie

Ruthe, it seems as though there is never enough time to visit when at conferences. I am looking forward to Conroe--and that's really not too far away!

Ruthe--it's so good to have you join with other librarians! It's a great way to communicate with librarians even when you can't see them in conferences.
