Hi Mary.  Glad to be friends with you. I have another correspondent friend in Sibley. MO.  My church is a member of CSLA (church and synagogue lib. assoc.) It's a small church with a small but interesting collection; actually four collections in different parts of three buildings of about 2000+ items.  I've been involved with this library since about 2005 setting up their first computer system and searchable catalog. Now it's time to upgrade the software and move ahead with networking and Internet access.  You can see more about me on my outdated (made it myself effort) web site.

Thank you Mary, I appreciate your help.  I am a retired public librarian, starting a retirement job at the church I have attended since I was a young child.  A new adventure--it will be good to listen to the wisdom of more experienced folks.

Thanks for reaching out!  I haven't had time to connect with other folks yet, but am really looking forward to digging into some of the resources I noticed.  Take care,

Hi Mary!  Hope your Summer is great!  I have located some Illinois Church librarians also.  Would like you share with me how you got started as a Church Librarian.  Thanks, Linda

Thanks, Mary.  I had not run across this organization until late last month when I was looking for titles in the Guidepost series Miracles of Marble Cove.  I do have my Masters of Library Science and currently am working at the Washington County / Gray Branch Library in Gray, TN.  I have also worked at the public library in Gate City, Virginia; the library at Bristol (TN) University, Milligan College (TN) and Roanoke Bible College (Elizabeth City, NC) that is now Mid-Atlantic University.  Along the way I have established 4 church libraries and oversee the library at the church where I currently am a member and attend.  I like what I see on the web site.  I wish I had a resource like this when I was putting together my first church library.  Keep up the good work!

Hello, Mary,

Thank you for the friend request.  My mother (also a Mary) actually had a degree in library science, but I do not.  I started a year ago as librarian of Castleton UMC in Indianapolis.   At the top of my agenda right now is to find a free cataloging system that will go on-line, but also be accessible off-line.  I like LibraryThing, but don't know if it will work off-line...........

Hi Mary,

Thanks for your invite. I am not a librarian but a retired reading teacher. I love working in our church library and I enjoy learning about the tasks of a librarian:)
