Becky, I cannot believe I am so late getting back to you. I apologize. I was out of town for nearly two weeks and returned with allergies and have missed work this week. Just now catching up with mail. It sounds like you are giving good information to the "new library" group. I was in New Mexico week before last and did a workshop for the Albuquerque association and others from out of town. Several were starting new church libraries. I am so glad you are so willing to help...and encourage a new start.
Thank you, BA
Yes that is the one. I am helping a small church in town start a library and I thought that it would be something that they could use in the beganing. I have been giving them basic things to start with they only have a few book. They are going to come to a workshop that we are having next summer. But they wanted to know a little so that they could get started getting there book ready by then. They don't have a room yet in there church for the library. So I told them that this could be the time to get all the books prepared for check out. Thank You for your time. BC.
So glad to hear from you. Are you referring to the Desk Book of several years ago that I did for LifeWay? I can send you more info on that. Now we do have the current book available is the "how-to" book from LifeWay that is the accumulation of instruction reproducible forms in four parts: Administration, Classification and Cataloging, Collection Development, and Promotion. See: "Church Library Information Service" published by B&H and sold by LifeWay Christian stores. This can be a start for you.
I will make contact with you again next week. Blessings in sharing "Library Ministry". --Beth Andrews
