Vacation Bible School 2026

What will you be during VBS this summer? My plan is to be avalable in the library during the mornings. I've already been asked by the VBS decorations team if they could use our main display. First time ever they have asked me that. I am thrilled! I'm looking forward to connecting with new library users during their breaks.

What will you be doing?

  • Not understanding why VBS would be using your library display space? Our VBS decorates the whole church but not the library. The library is already by that point (mid-June) decorated for Summer Reading along with it's two bulletin boards.

The library is open all five nights of VBS from an hour before to 1/2 hour after, so 5p to 8:30p. VBS participants do not use the library during program, same with AWANA. Their time is before or after. The library is busy with parents though, and non VBS and/or AWANA attending youth.  We are a nice space to sit and read and/or chat

    • For our unique church, the library's participation in VBS with our hallway display window shows the library is aligning with the mission of the church. I wish I could do what you are suggesting but we are taking a pause this year with a summer reading challenge. Due to the preschool, children, and youth ministries very active summer with our families the most we have attracted to our reading challenge has been 2 families. For those families and hopefully more, we are going to have reading group sessions in July. They requested that instead of a reading challenge. Our VBS team also decorates the whole church so our display window has been the only part of the building that has not been VBS related. All of the children pass our display window at least twice if not 4 times each day.
