Could we start a thread listing social media links for those who have dedicated library pages on social media? There may be one all ready and I just didn't see it.
It's always great to look and get ideas from other churches and to help support other church libraries's efforts.
JFBC Media Library. This is the link to our FB page, but we also have an IG account which is linked to FB. Please like and follow both!
We are Jasper's First Baptist Church in Jasper, AL. Seven of us ladies with pastor support reopened our library in January 2024 in the original, smaller library room after over 9k books had been given away and the library space turned into a conference room.
God has blessed our efforts richly, and we continue to grow by filling all the shelves in our small room and adding patrons slowly. We are excited about the direction that He is leading us and would love to have you follow our library happenings on both platforms. We would love to follow your pages as well!

Our FB page is FBC Natchitoches Library. We are a very small team, so our posts are infrequent, but we are trying!
I just joined. You have some great posts and books! I look forward to to seeing more. Our FB page is Colbert First Baptist Church Media Center. I have a post below.
Hi, I am Pat and am a member of the library team at First Baptist Church, O'Fallon, MO. Our Church Library has a Facebook page, named FBCO Library. The link to it is https://www.facebook.com/groups/622148715138354
It is a private group of 178 members. New members are invited to join by present members. The Administration team approves those who are joining. I don't know what this will look like to non-members who click on the link. I think some people have applied for membership and been accepted without being invited.
When the page had less than 100 members, Facebook allowed the admin team to see the names of members who saw the page. It seemed that if page 3 was not seen by Mr. A before page 4 was posted, Mr. A would not see page 3. We felt that people who did not check Facebook every day would miss some of the posts, so we try to only post once every three days. We now have 178 members and can no longer tell how our page is being seen.
I would love some feedback from anyone who tries to open the link so we know that it can or cannot be done. Also if someone could try to join without being invited and let me know what happens, it would be greatly appreciated.
There are several different people on the church library team who are freely allowed to generate a post to the page. Other people can submit a post that will be visible after approval. Comments to any post will be seen without being approved.
I use PowerPoint to create slides saved as jpegs to post on Facebook. Other librarians use other techniques to create a post.
Thanks for helping us.
I clicked on your page and asked to join. I'm curious as to why it is a private page instead of one that visitors to your church could check out? I keep a close watch on those who join our page and those
unrecognized names that comment.
Sabrina,
Thank you soooooooo much. Our page will be public in about 3 days and future posts will be seen by anyone. For anyone who wants to see past posts, they must join the group.
Why not public already? Our page was set up by two people who are no longer available to ask. We will never know. But you brought this to my attention and it has been changed.
I ask AI for help. I am attaching an explanation of why the changes do not take immediate effect.
Great days ahead.
I clicked on your link and it took me to your facebook page, but since I'm not a member I can't see any posts/pictures. Just your main header, name, about, admins and moderators, group activity. and a "join group" button. I'd love to see your posts, so I'm going to click on it and see what happens. If I'm added or refused, I'll come back here and let you know. Thanks!
Thank you for helping us in that way. I saw your request and clicked the "Approve" button, so hopefully you can see our page.
This morning I saw I was accepted. Thanks!! I do love your page and I've already been inspired by several posts. You're doing a great job!
Hi, I'm Debbie and I'm the librarian at Colbert First Baptist Church in Colbert, GA. Our facebook account is Colbert First Baptist Church Media Center. I love to find other churches who have social media for their libraries so I can get some ideas. So, please share! I'm loving Jasper First Baptist's facebook! They do a wonderful job.
Thank you, Debbie! I have liked your page and have enjoyed reading about your ongoing book club. That is something I would like to incorporate into our scheduling at some point.
I keep up our FB & IG page and it keeps me busy, but I do receive a good bit of response from members that they "see" the posts and enjoy them. Some do come in and check out promoted books.
We all can glean ideas from each other and help encourage if we follow each others' church library pages.
Thank you for your response!
